We install hardwood by glue-down. We trowel adhesive in even ridges, set the first course, then place each plank, tap for tight seams, and keep lines true with spacers for expansion. Joints are staggered, edges flush, and transitions fit cleanly. We roll the field to seat the bond and manage squeeze-out as we go. We use tape to secure the strips in place to prevent the joints from separating before they are completely dry. You see rows lock in, grain run unbroken, and light sweep across a flat, quiet surface that feels newly alive underfoot. We create a consistent pattern of wood grain. An important challenge for us is to ensure that the planks are securely attached to the subfloor to eliminate gaps and misalignment. In some cases, we use a combination of nailing and gluing methods.
