Crew Vetting Process · Free for Crews

Bid with proof,
not promises.

Accepted Crews can already bid on Parrotones projects. A Vetted Crew bids with proof: we check the license, company documents and insurance, look at real work, read reviews and meet the team. Homeowners see the Vetted badge next to your name, so they know what stands behind your price.

Vetting costs you nothing.

Documents, real work, reviews and a meeting.

Why we vet

Trust on both sides of the job

Homeowner couple shakes hands with a crew foreman in front of a craftsman bungalow as his crew unloads a van
HOMEOWNERS ASK

“Who is coming into my home?”

A Crew we checked before it bid. You see what we looked at, and the price comes with the same Scope of Work for every bidder.

CREWS ASK

“Why pick me over a cheaper bid?”

Because your bid shows the checks behind it. With the Vetted badge the talk is about your work, not about whether you can be trusted.

What we check

Inside a Crew check

Real people, real job sites. Here is what our team looks at, and what homeowners see once you pass.
FIELD CHECK

A field check: our team on one of your job sites while the foreman walks through the work. Sometimes it is a whole working day together.

How vetting works

Six steps from your application to the Vetted badge.
1
Step 1 · Online

Apply

Tell us about your company, your trades and where you work. The application below takes you straight into a Crew account in Renovation Hub.

2
Step 2 · Paperwork

License, documents and insurance

We check your California contractor license on the public CSLB records, and again when it expires. Then we look at your company documents and your insurance.

3
Step 3 · Your work

Portfolio

We look at real projects you have finished. No portfolio yet? We come to one of your job sites, take the photos and build your portfolio with you, with your customer’s consent.

4
Step 4 · Reputation

Reviews

We read what your customers say about you online and may talk to some of them about how the job went.

5
Step 5 · Meet the team

Interview and field check

We meet you by phone, by video or in person. The format is our call, and so is the field check.

6
Step 6 · Decision

Vetted Crew

We weigh everything together and make one decision. Crews that pass get the Vetted Crew status: a badge homeowners see next to your bird name.

Our scoring stays private.

We don’t publish the exact criteria or how we score them, so every interview stays honest. The final decision is made by the Parrotones team.

Why get vetted

What the Vetted status gives your Crew

Where you stand today, and where vetting takes you.
TODAY

Not a Parrotones Crew

You buy leads, chase free estimates and prove yourself to every homeowner from zero.

ACCEPTED

Accepted Crew

You have a Crew account and can bid. Homeowners see your price and scope, but not our checks.

✓ VETTED

Vetted Crew

Your bid comes with proof. Homeowners see what we checked before they call you.

The Vetted status stays while your license and insurance are valid and your work meets the standard. We recheck the license when it expires and can suspend a Crew for poor work, safety problems or fraud. Vetted means a Crew passed our review; it is not a guarantee of its work, and every Crew is an independent business. Terms for Crews

Apply to get vetted

Fill in the application. Then Renovation Hub opens with your answers already in place: confirm your phone and email, and your Crew account is ready.

Vetting is free. We review every application and contact you about the next step. We don’t promise a timeline: some checks take a job-site visit or a working day together.

Have these ready

Questions crews ask

If the law requires a license for the work you do, yes. We check its status on the public CSLB website and check again when it expires. If your trade does not need a license, leave the field empty and tell us what you do.

Yes. Tick the box in the application. We can come to one of your job sites, take the photos and build your portfolio with you, with your customer’s consent.

To keep vetting honest. If the exact criteria and scales were public, an interview would test how well a crew prepared for it, not how it works. We tell you what we check; how we weigh it stays with our team.

Accepted Crews can already bid. The Vetted status adds proof: a badge next to your bird name that tells homeowners we checked your license, insurance and work and met your team, so they trust you sooner.

Yes. It stays while your license and insurance are valid and your work meets the standard. We can suspend or remove a Crew for poor workmanship, safety problems, an invalid license where the law requires one, fraud or serious complaints. See the Terms for Crews.

Your public profile shows your bird name, not your personal accounts, and project requests reach you through Parrotones. Your company details appear in the contract you sign with the homeowner.

No. Vetted means the Crew passed our review. It is not a guarantee of its work. Every Crew is an independent business responsible for its own work, licenses and insurance, and Parrotones is not a contractor.

Renovation Hub opens with your answers filled in. You confirm your phone and email, and your Crew account is ready; you can pick your bird name in your profile. Our team reviews the application, asks for anything missing and sets up the interview. Your vetting status shows on your Crew home screen.

Yes, once your Crew is accepted. Accepted Crews bid on Parrotones projects with the same Scope of Work as everyone else. Vetting adds the badge and the checks homeowners see next to your bid.

Vetting is free. We don’t promise a timeline: each Crew gets the checks it needs, and some take a job-site visit or a working day together, so the wait can vary.
