We install nail-down flooring by snapping control lines, setting a straight first course, racking boards, and blind-nailing through the tongue at precise spacing. We face-nail perimeters, stagger end joints, tap each board tight, and keep consistent expansion gaps along walls. We create a consistent pattern of wood grain. An important challenge for us is to ensure that the planks are securely attached to the sub-floor to eliminate gaps and misalignment. In some cases, we use a combination of nailing and gluing methods.
You’ll see true rows, tight seams, square edges, and smooth transitions at thresholds.
