A remodel is won or lost before anyone picks up a tool. The scope, the price and the choice of crew are settled on paper, and most overpaying and most wrong hires start there. Parrotones has moved to that stage.
Parrotones, founded in 2022, is now a contractor assessment and matching service. A Parrotones Renovation Specialist assesses your property and writes one detailed scope of work. Vetted contractors then bid on that same scope. You get a side-by-side comparison and a review call, backed by a written promise: “3 Bids in 7 Days, or your scoping fee back.”
This is for homeowners, landlords, property managers and business owners planning a remodel of $10,000 or more in Greater Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento.
What Parrotones California does now
Parrotones PARROTONES INC serves California only: the Los Angeles Greater Area, the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento. Our mission has not changed. We want to make home renovation honest, predictable, and stress-free.
What has changed is where we put our effort. We focus on the stage before construction, when the decision about whom to trust and on what terms still costs nothing to get right. Parrotones is not a contractor directory and does not sell leads. We act as a neutral intermediary between you and the crews. Our values are no hidden fees and bids presented exactly as submitted.
Why remodel bids rarely match
If you have collected three estimates for the same kitchen, you know the problem. Each estimator walks through the space, writes down something different and prices it differently. One quote includes demolition and disposal. Another leaves out electrical. A third uses allowances you never discussed. The totals look comparable, but they describe three different jobs.
You can’t tell who is cheaper and who has simply left something out. You also spend several afternoons hosting estimators.
A scoping service fixes the cause, not the symptom. If every contractor prices the same written scope, line by line, the differences between bids become real differences in price, timeline, team size and availability.
How the Parrotones scoping service works, in five steps
Step 1. You send a request. You tell us about the property and the project. A dispatcher reviews the request and, when it fits, confirms your appointment.
Step 2. A Renovation Specialist assesses the property. The Specialist visits the property, takes measurements and photos, and listens to what you want. If an on-site visit does not suit you, the assessment can be done remotely from photos and video.
Step 3. One scope of work gets written. The Specialist turns the assessment into a single detailed scope with a preliminary work plan, so the whole project is clear on paper before anyone prices it.
Step 4. Vetted contractors bid. The scope goes to up to 5 vetted contractors from the Parrotones network. Each answers with price, timeline, team size and availability for your project.
Step 5. You compare and review. We assemble a comparison report of 3 to 4 normalized bids, shown as submitted, and walk you through the options on a review call. You decide. Nobody pressures you to pick a particular crew.
The guarantee, in factual terms
Our promise is “3 Bids in 7 Days, or your scoping fee back.” Here is exactly what that means.
It covers the scoping fee. It does not cover the cost of the remodel itself. If the bids do not arrive within seven days, the refund is settled by a Specialist in the app. It is not an automatic or instant card refund. We would rather state the limits plainly than let you assume more than we promise.
Renovation Hub after you hire
Choosing a crew is the first half of the job. Renovation Hub, the Parrotones app for mobile and web, covers the second half. You can read more about it here: https://ptns.cc/hub
Once you choose a contractor, Parrotones briefs the crew, runs a pre-work training session and gives both sides access to the Hub. The client, the crew and the Specialist share one project. Each person sees what they are responsible for, and all of them work from the same plan, the same bids and the same record of what was agreed.
In practice, that means:
Contract. It is signed in the app, so the agreed terms stay attached to the project.
Staged payments. Payments follow the stages of the work. Each stage opens only after the matching work is documented and accepted. The initial deposit stays within California’s legal limit.
Daily reports. The crew posts progress with photos, and you can see what happened on site without driving over.
Change orders. When something changes mid-project, the change is written down in the same place, with the same record of who agreed to it.
Documents. Photos, files and messages stay with the project. After the job, they remain as a lasting record of the property, so the next project starts from what was already done.
The app also includes Ara Chat-Bird, an in-app assistant that explains scopes and bids in plain language, and Roller Magic AI, which previews design ideas on photos of your actual space. People still sign and pay. The tools are there to keep the job understandable.
For California contractors
A clear scope helps crews too. A bid based on a defined job takes less guesswork, and fewer unclear details turn into disputes later.
If you run a crew in Los Angeles, the Bay Area or Sacramento, you can apply to join the vetted network and receive ready-scoped, qualified jobs. Membership follows vetting, and Parrotones does not promise any particular volume of work. Start with the contractor form at https://ptns.cc/welcome or register at https://parrotones.com/join

Do I need to be home for an assessment?
The Specialist can visit the property, or assess it remotely from photos and video.
