Terms of Service

Terms of Service for Parrotones, Renovation Hub, Roller Magic AI and Ara AI: scoping, guarantees, Crews, messages and your responsibilities.

Effective date: October 8, 2026

Please read these Terms carefully. They explain what Parrotones does, what Crews do, and what you can expect from both.

Contents

1. Who we are and what these Terms cover

  • Parrotones Inc (“Parrotones”, “we”, “us”) is a California corporation located at 1425 Violeta Dr, Alhambra, CA 91801.
  • These Terms cover parrotones.com, the Renovation Hub web and mobile app (“Renovation Hub” or “Hub”), Roller Magic AI, Ara AI (also called “Ara” or “Chat-Bird”) and related features (together, the “Services”).
  • By creating an account, ordering a Plan or paying any fee, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
  • You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement. If you use the Services for a business, you confirm that you can bind it.
  • Crews (independent businesses that bid on and perform work) also accept the separate Terms for Crews.

2. What Parrotones does, and what it does not do

  • We provide scoping (a written Scope of Work), invitations to Crews, a side-by-side comparison of bids, a walkthrough call with a Specialist, and project tools in Hub such as e-signed contracts, daily reports and chat.
  • A “Crew” is an independent business, large or small, that bids on and performs work. Each Crew holds the licenses and insurance, if any, that the law requires for its own work.
  • Parrotones is not a contractor and does not perform construction, installation or other licensed work. We do not hold a contractor’s license and do not provide licensed services. All work is performed by Crews.
  • Everything a Crew does is the Crew’s own responsibility: its work, workmanship, prices, schedule, safety, workers, licenses, insurance, permits, materials, advice and conduct.
  • Your contract for the work is between you and the Crew. Parrotones is not a party to it, except for the guarantees in Sections 5 and 6.
  • Crews are not employees, agents or partners of Parrotones.
  • Specialists are Parrotones staff who advise and coordinate. They do not give legal, engineering, architectural or code-compliance advice, and they do not replace licensed professionals or inspectors.

3. Scope of Work and its limits

  • We prepare the Scope of Work from the visible and accessible parts of the property and from what you tell us: your statements, photos, videos, measurements and documents.
  • A Scope is a description of work used for bidding. It is not a guarantee of price, schedule or result. A Virtual Estimate is based only on the photos and video you provide and is less detailed than an on-site Scope.
  • Hidden and unforeseen conditions. Some conditions cannot be seen or reached before work starts. They can appear when walls, floors or ceilings are opened, during demolition, or during any other process. Examples are concealed damage, rot, mold, pests, asbestos, lead, structural, electrical, plumbing or HVAC problems, earlier unpermitted work, and code violations. Parrotones is not responsible for such conditions or for the additional cost and time they cause. They are handled through a written change order between you and your Crew. This applies to the fullest extent permitted by law.
  • You are responsible for giving us accurate and complete information, including known defects, hazards, permits, HOA or landlord rules, and access limits. You confirm that you own the property or have the owner’s authority to order the work.

4. Plans, add-ons and payments

  • Plans and add-ons. The price of each Plan and add-on is shown at checkout before you pay, and on parrotones.com/pricing/. Perks have their own terms. A percentage price always states what it is calculated on.
  • How you pay us. You pay Plan, add-on and perk fees by card through Stripe. We do not store full card numbers. Fees are exclusive of applicable taxes.
  • Payments for the work. Parrotones charges only for Plans, add-ons and perks. We do not collect, hold or process payments for the work itself. You and your Crew agree on the price and payment terms in your contract, and you pay the Crew directly.
  • Refunds. Scoping fee refunds under the guarantee are described in Section 5.

5. Scoping Fee Guarantee: "3 Bids in 7 Days or your scoping fee back"

  • We invite 5 Crews to bid on your Scope. If fewer than 3 complete, priced bids are in your project within 7 days after it enters Bidding, you can claim your scoping fee back.
  • With the 24 Hours add-on the period is 24 hours. With the 4+ Bids add-on the required number of bids is 4. A live countdown is shown in your project.
  • To claim, tap Get my fee back in your project. A Specialist reviews the claim, confirms the amount and refunds the scoping fee to your original payment method. Refunds are processed by us manually. Your bank may need additional time to post it.
  • The clock pauses or restarts if the delay is caused by you. Examples are missing information or access, unanswered Specialist questions, or a Scope that you change after bidding starts.
  • The guarantee does not cover disliking the bids or prices, choosing not to hire anyone, or a Crew declining your project after a bid is received. It is not a promise about the price level of bids.

6. Replace Guarantee

  • Every paid Plan includes it. If a Crew you hired through Hub does not meet the standard of work set by your signed contract and Scope, or a conflict cannot be resolved with your Specialist’s help, Parrotones will help you replace the Crew.
  • The remaining work should stay within your budget, with an overrun of no more than 10%.
  • Conditions: you met your payment obligations under your contract; you gave access; you raised problems in Hub (reports, chat) promptly and allowed the Crew a reasonable chance to fix them; and you made no side deals outside Hub.
  • Not covered: hidden or unforeseen conditions and scope changes (Section 3); work or materials that you changed or supplied; normal wear and tear; damage by third parties; and matters covered by a manufacturer’s warranty.
  • The guarantee does not refund money already paid to a Crew. It is not insurance or a performance bond. Beyond Sections 5 and 6, Parrotones is not responsible for a Crew’s work.
  • Specialists act as neutral advisors. They help the parties reach a solution but do not decide legal rights.

7. Contracts and electronic signatures

  • Contracts, change orders and acceptance documents are signed electronically in Hub through our e-signature provider. You consent to doing business electronically under the California Uniform Electronic Transactions Act and the federal E-SIGN Act.
  • You may ask for a paper copy or withdraw your consent by contacting us. Withdrawal may stop you from using Hub for that project.
  • California law gives homeowners certain protections in home improvement contracts, for example a written contract and, for some contracts, a right to cancel within three business days. Read your contract and the notices in it.

8. Visits and your property

  • Provide safe access during working hours. Move or cover valuables. Tell your Crew about pets, hazards and access rules.
  • Obtain required permits and approvals (HOA, landlord) unless your contract assigns them to the Crew.
  • Cancel or reschedule an on-site visit at least 24 hours before it starts. With less notice, the fee you paid is not refundable.
  • Daily clean-up is handled under your contract with the Crew. Disposal of large or hazardous items is arranged separately unless the contract says otherwise.
  • Warranty. Workmanship warranties are given by your Crew in your contract. Manufacturer warranties may apply to materials. Parrotones gives only the guarantees in Sections 5 and 6.

9. Your Hub account and acceptable use

  • Keep your information accurate and your login private. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • Use Hub for real Parrotones projects only. Statuses, prices, schedules and contacts shown in Hub are planning aids unless confirmed in a signed agreement.
  • Anything you add to a project can be seen by the people on that project.
  • Contacts shared in Hub are for project coordination only. No spam, marketing or solicitation.
  • No harassment, threats, fraud, scraping, unauthorized security testing, or misuse of AI features.
  • We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Account and data deletion is described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Photos, video, calls and cameras

  • You allow Parrotones, and the Crews on your project, to use the photos, video, plans and documents you upload in order to deliver the Services.
  • Calls through Hub may be recorded. We tell you at the start of a recording, and continuing the call means that you consent to it.
  • If you use a project camera perk, you are responsible for lawful placement and for telling people on your property that cameras are in use. Recordings are kept as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. AI features and website content

  • Roller Magic AI. Images are illustrations for planning only. Final results can differ with lighting, materials and surface conditions. They are not a quote, a drawing or a promise.
  • License to Parrotones. By using Roller Magic AI, and by registering or paying for a Plan that includes it, you give Parrotones a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, display and publish the images you submit and the images generated from them, including on our website, social media and in marketing, without further consent, notice or payment.
  • We do not publish your name, contact details or exact address with these images, and we make reasonable efforts to avoid showing faces, license plates and house numbers. You keep ownership of your original photos.
  • Do not upload images of people without their permission, or images you have no right to use.
  • AI providers. We use third-party AI services, including Eden AI, OpenRouter and Ollama Cloud. We do not train AI models on your content.
  • Ara AI. Ara AI (Ara, Chat-Bird) is an AI assistant and can be wrong. It never signs contracts or approves payments. Check important facts with your Specialist. Conversations are logged for audit.
  • Website content belongs to Parrotones or its licensors. Copying is not allowed without permission. Some content is AI-assisted.

12. Text, email and push messages

  • Service messages. When you give us your mobile number at registration or checkout and agree to these Terms, you agree to receive project and account texts from Parrotones. Examples are status changes, visit reminders, daily-report and invoice notices, security alerts, and unread-chat reminders.
  • Promotional messages are sent only if you separately opt in, and consent is never a condition of purchase.
  • Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Opt out. Reply STOP to opt out, or HELP for help. You can also change notifications in Settings or contact us. You get one confirmation after STOP. Reply START to resubscribe.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • We do not share mobile numbers or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. Message delivery providers, such as Telnyx, process them for us.
  • Promotional emails include an unsubscribe link. Service emails continue.

13. Disclaimers and limits on liability

  • To the extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
  • Parrotones is not responsible for a Crew’s workmanship, delays, safety, pricing or conduct, for hidden conditions, or for third-party services.
  • To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to the amounts you paid Parrotones in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
  • Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under California law, for example for fraud, willful misconduct or gross negligence, or your rights under Sections 5 and 6.
  • You agree to indemnify Parrotones for claims caused by your content, your misuse of the Services or your breach of these Terms.

14. Disputes and governing law

  • Please contact us first and give us 30 days to resolve a problem. Specialists help with disputes between you and a Crew but do not decide them.
  • California law governs these Terms. Courts located in Los Angeles County, California have jurisdiction.
  • You may report problems with licensed Crews to the Contractors State License Board (cslb.ca.gov, 800-321-2752).
  • California residents: under Civil Code Section 1789.3, you may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210.

15. Changes and general

  • We post changes here with a new effective date, and we notify you in Hub or by email if they are material. Continued use means that you accept them.
  • If a provision is invalid, the rest stays in force. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Services.
