These Terms apply to Crews: independent businesses, large or small, that bid on and perform work through Renovation Hub (“Hub”). By registering as a Crew, accepting a project invitation or submitting a bid, you accept these Terms, the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.

1. Relationship
- A Crew is an independent business. A Crew is not an employee, agent or partner of Parrotones Inc (“Parrotones”).
- A Crew decides how, when and with whom it does the work, subject to its contract with the Customer. It uses its own tools, hires its own workers, may work for others, and receives no training or benefits from Parrotones.
- Parrotones is not a contractor and does not hold a contractor’s license. It provides the Hub platform, the Scope of Work and the bid process. It is not a party to the contract between a Crew and a Customer.
- Everything a Crew does is the Crew’s own responsibility: its work, workmanship, prices, schedule, safety, workers, licenses, insurance, permits, materials, taxes, advice and conduct.
2. Registration and checks
- Crews of every size are welcome, including individual tradespeople and small contractors.
- A Crew is responsible for holding the licenses, insurance, bonds and permits that the law requires for the work it chooses to do, and for keeping them current.
- If a Crew gives us a California contractor license number, Parrotones checks its status on the public website of the Contractors State License Board (CSLB), and checks again when that license expires. This is a check of public records only. It is not an inspection, endorsement or guarantee of a Crew or its work.
- Information about a Crew shown in Hub comes from the Crew. Statuses such as Pending, Verified and Active are not an endorsement by Parrotones.
- A Crew keeps its profile accurate and tells Parrotones promptly if its license status changes.
3. Scope of Work and bids
- Parrotones Specialists prepare the Scope of Work from the visible and accessible parts of the property and from the Customer’s statements. A Crew reviews the Scope, asks questions or visits the site, and bids on that Scope.
- A bid is accurate, honest and valid for 14 days. Crews do not rig bids or coordinate them with other Crews.
- Hidden or unforeseen conditions are handled by a written change order approved by the Customer in Hub before the extra work starts.
4. Contracts with Customers
- Contracts are signed in Hub.
- A Crew follows the laws that apply to its contracts with homeowners in California, including home improvement contract rules, and is solely responsible for the content and legal compliance of its contracts.
5. Prices, payments and taxes
- A Crew sets its own prices and payment terms with the Customer in their contract.
- Parrotones does not collect, hold or process payments for the work, and is not responsible for payments between a Crew and a Customer.
- A Crew is responsible for its own taxes.
6. Daily reports and review of work
- We recommend that Crews submit a daily report in Hub for each workday, with accurate progress and photos. Reports help Customers follow the work. Submitting them remains the Crew’s own responsibility.
- If a Crew takes part in the Waste-Free Rewards program, it reports the actual amount of paint applied.
- Customers and Specialists may review completed work. A Crew corrects defects at its own cost.
7. Standards on site
- Comply with all laws, Cal/OSHA rules and safe practices. For homes built before 1978, follow the lead-safe work practices that the law requires.
- Stop work and notify the Customer and the Specialist if you find suspected asbestos, lead, mold, or structural or utility problems.
- Protect the Customer’s property. Report damage immediately and repair or compensate it.
- Keep the site clean and safe. Remove protection and debris at the end of each phase and at completion.
- Behave professionally. No alcohol, drugs or smoking on site. No harassment or discrimination.
- Arrive at agreed times and report delays through Hub. Present yourself as your own business and not as a Parrotones employee.
- Keep Customer information, access codes and photos confidential, and use them only for the project.
- Communicate with Customers about the job, ideally through Hub chat. Handle scope changes through a change order.
8. Cameras and recording
Project cameras may be installed on a site, and Hub calls may be recorded with notice. A Crew does not record Customers or their premises without notice.
9. Warranty and replacement
- A Crew warrants its workmanship for the period stated in its contract and fixes defects at its own cost.
- If a Crew is replaced under the Replace Guarantee, it cooperates in the handover and provides records and information about progress and materials. Any dispute about amounts is between the Crew and the Customer.
10. Liability
- A Crew is responsible for its workers and for injuries, damage, theft and insurance claims connected with its work on the site. Parrotones does not organize workplaces.
- A Crew indemnifies Parrotones against claims arising from the Crew’s work or conduct, to the extent permitted by law.
- Parrotones Specialists may help the parties talk and propose solutions. They are not arbitrators, and Parrotones is not a party to the dispute.
11. Public profile and portfolio
- Parrotones owns the Crew’s bird name and the Hub profile handle. A Crew may use them while it is active.
- A Crew allows Parrotones to display its portfolio photos and videos.
- A Crew confirms that it owns its portfolio materials or has permission to use them, including the Customers’ consent, and is responsible for any claim about them.
12. Suspension and termination
- Parrotones may warn, suspend or remove a Crew for breach of these Terms, poor workmanship, safety problems, an invalid license where the law requires one, fraud or serious complaints.
- Active projects continue under the Replace Guarantee. A Crew may leave with notice after completing or handing over its active projects.
13. Disputes and governing law
- Disputes between a Crew and a Customer go first to Specialist-assisted resolution, then to mediation before any lawsuit.
- California law governs. Courts located in Los Angeles County, California have jurisdiction.
14. Messages, data and changes
- Project texts and emails follow Section 12 of the Terms of Service (STOP and HELP).
- Crew data is handled under the Privacy Policy.
- We post changes here with a new effective date.
